Infant Restraint Sales & Rentals is a private company dedicated to meeting all your child restraint needs. We are an authorised seat belt and child restraint inspection and fitting station.

We are located on the top floor (B1) of the carpark under the Royal Hospital for Women (same as for P.O.W. & Sydney Childrens)

In NSW you are required by law to use an approved child restraint, in safe condition, correctly fitted and appropriately used until 26kgs or 7 years of age.

There are now a large number of child car restraints approved for use for babies, toddlers and older children.

Child Restraint Rentals

Please note

• A NSW Driver's License is needed for ID, (without this an extra $20.00 deposit is required).
• All baby car seat rentals include standard installation and instruction on correct use of baby car seats, though not special parts eg. extension straps.
• All Child Car Restraints rentals are inspected for safety and thoroughly cleaned before reuse.
• All babies require rearward facing child car restraints until 9 kgs or 6 months of age.

Child Car Restraint Sales

We stock many of the approved Australian child car restraints (primarily Safe-n-Sound and Baby Love) as well as prams/strollers for their’s and Steelcraft travel systems. The most appropriate choice of child car restraints system will depend on the size of the child, the direction the child should be facing when seated in the baby car seats as well as the configuration of the vehicle.

Should you choose to purchase new child car restraints from us, you can be assured that we will endeavour to provide you with the child car restraints most suited to your needs. We will correctly install it in your vehicle, instruct you as to its proper use and supply baby car seats at a very competitive price.

We stock a range of child car restraints suitable for children:

• 0-6 months or 3-9kg
• 0-12 months or 3-12kg
• 0-4 years or 3-18kg
• 6 months - 8 years or 8-26kg
• 4-8 years or 14-26kg

Important

As we provide you with a personal service it is recommended that you make an appointment.

At least one week's notice is advised. We recommend organising baby car seats installation two weeks before the due date.

Installations

While you are not prohibited to install Sydney child restraints yourself, it is strongly recommended to seek the help of a professional to get the task done. Our qualified fitters will install your child car restraints systems to leave you free of unnecessary worry. If you have a used or new baby car seats restraint and need help installing it, as an authorised Sydney child restraints fitting station we can inspect it for safety, install it correctly and instruct you on the proper use. The fee for this service is typically $30 plus parts if required.

Accessories

We stock anchor bolts, extensions straps, rear tether straps and replacement liners for most of the Safe-n-Sound baby car seats range.

Please note

For the vehicles listed below which presently may not have the requirements for fitting approved Sydney child restraints, we can adapt most of them under authorised guidelines to safely fit an approved child car restraint.

As these vehicles may need substantial work, this should be done before the birth of your child. Do not leave this to the last moment.
